Academic Editing
Basic copyediting - $30/hour. Includes grammar and sentence structure corrections, suggestions for revision. I would typically provide corrections and comments on several instances of the same error, then leave a final comment regarding the rest of the document. Provided with tracked changes so you can review and accept. I can generally review 8-12 pages per hour.
Heavy editing - $45/hour. Includes grammar and sentence structure corrections, APA 6th edition corrections, suggestions for revision. I would address each instance of an error. I can generally review 3-7 page per hour.
Creative and Developmental Editing
Copyediting - $4/page. Grammar or sentence structure corrections, noting areas that may need tightening up or revision for clarity. Copyedits provided in tracked changes; comments in the margins.
Content editing - $8/page. Grammar or sentence structure corrections, revising or rewriting prose for greater clarity and flow, and identifying areas that may be unclear or need further development with suggestions. Edits provided in tracked changes; comments in the margins.
Get a Quote
Full edit - Content editing as noted above, plus full service editing, including but not limited to reorganization of entire manuscript, suggestions for development to address plot, character development, etc. This service involves client agreeing to a scope of work, presented for approval before I begin. Any edits or changes are presented as tracked changes, and I review the manuscript a second time after client has made any revisions to the manuscript in light of my suggestions. Fee: Per project
Each project requires a contract (agreement letter) defining the scope of the project and anticipated total fees, determined during a phone consultation prior to the agreement letter being issued.
I reserve the right to decline projects or clients for any reason.
